Viking Hotel Waterford are currently recruiting for a General Cleaner to join the team.
Our Hotel
The Viking Hotel is located 4km from Waterford city centre and just 7km from the M9 motorway. The hotel offers a perfect base for both business and leisure guests. We offer 98 rooms in total which are tastefully designed with the comfort of home in mind. The Wooden Pestle Bar & Restaurant recently underwent a makeover and has a great atmosphere which is enjoyed by residents and locals alike. The Wooden Pestle offers sumptuous dishes from carvery lunch and light snacks to an evening meal.
Your New Role
The role of General Cleaner /Accommodation Assistant is to ensure that public areas, meeting rooms and allocated rooms areas are serviced to the required standards in an acceptable amount of time and to co-operate with colleagues while promoting a positive image of the hotel to guests and colleagues and to operate in accordance with all of the company’s policies and procedures.
Duties included in the role are:
- To be responsible for the routine cleaning of all public areas and meeting rooms (Porch, lobby, meeting rooms, stairwells, corridors)
- To keep the lobby tidy at all times
- High & low dusting in lobby & Bar areas
- Washing of floors in public areas and public toilets & monitor accordingly
- Cleaning all areas of the Public Bathrooms
- To maintain correct levels of sanitizers in all areas
- To maintain the correct levels of requisites in Bathrooms / bedroom / public areas
- To deep clean staff toilets once a week & monitor accordingly
- To clean all glass , doors , handrails , touchpoints vents in public and staff areas
- To be responsible for the daily stocking of trolleys and caddies.
- To deal with lost property as per house policy.
- To adhere to all company policies and procedures as outlined in your terms and conditions of employment.

- To ensure all areas of responsibility are checked frequently to ensure standards are achieved and maintained
- To report any maintenance issues immediately
Considering the nature of our industry, the successful candidate must have previous experience and be available to work daytime and evening hours including weekends.
